Main map
The Main Map is an interactive map view of the NPD-database. It is controlled using tools from the toolbar. You can select what you want to display on the map. Different map tools let you zoom and pan on the Main Map to a region of interest. Labels for quadrants, blocks, fields, production licences and wells become visible as you zoom in. You can search for any objects on the Main Map by name and get more information on map objects by linking to the NPD fact pages. Within the Main Map you also find the Overview Map, the scale bar and a source reference. All geographical data are projected in UTM-zone 32. If the map is shown in bad resolution, please resize your browser window to 1024x768 pixels or less, and press the "Refresh map" button.
Scale bar
A scale bar is shown along the lower margin of the Main Map. Map scale changes as you zoom in
or out
on the Main Map. The length of the scale bar is fixed, while the label on the scale bar will reflect map scale.
Source reference
The source reference is shown in the lower left corner of the Main Map area. Source for the data displayed on the Map is the NPD database.Geographic reference is "UTM Zone 32N". To the right of the source reference you find the date the map data were generated.
Cursor map coordinates
Shows the North and East coordinates of current mouse pointer position on the map. Coordinates are shown as ED50 (European datum 1950) DMS (Degrees Minutes Seconds ). As the map is in ED50, UTM Zone 32 North there is also shown a ERR message behind the coordinates. This is to indicate the error in the coordinates, as the coordinates will only be accurate when close to the central meridian of the UTM Zone 32 North projection.
